People often ask me the "why" behind what I do when it comes to real estate.
When I first started the answer was simple, "my family". My husband and I started our real estate journey over a decade ago when he left the corporate business model to become a licensed Texas Real Estate Agent. Our daughter was very young at the time, and being present for her was a driving force in that decision.
After several years in the industry, he invited me to join him as his Transaction Coordinator. Coming from an office management and medical billing background I brought a different element to his business model, and he felt I was exactly what was needed to elevate the client experience. As we continued to work together, I discovered a newfound passion for the industry. Over time, I realized that real estate was not just a job for us; it was a calling.
Our business grew, and so did our family. Our son was born in 2017 and as we continued to balance work and home life we found that though it was challenging, it taught us resilience and adaptability. Stephen furthered his education and became a Texas Real Estate Broker and together we launched our own independent Brokerage in 2021. We learned to lean on each other and the team we had built, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
Our focus shifted to creating long-lasting relationships with our clients, understanding their needs and aspirations. Today, our "why" has evolved beyond just family. It's about making a positive impact in our community, guiding people through one of the most significant decisions of their lives, and continuously learning and growing in this ever-changing industry. Each day is an opportunity to make a difference, and that is what fuels our passion for real estate.
We have seen many changes in the industry, and through each transaction involving large lending institutions or loan officers and lenders not familiar with our local market, I found myself exhausted and too often had to push transactions across the finish line by relentless phone calls and emails to force action on the lender's part. I witnessed consumers fall victim to loan denials and misinformation resulting in financial loss and emotional distress. Both of which were absolutely avoidable. An equally frustrating issue was a lack of communication, or simply too many people in the process confusing the agents and clients.
I decided that something needed to change, and I began my journey of becoming a Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator. It's incredibly rewarding to witness the joy and relief on a client's face when they finally receive the keys to their new home. These are the moments that remind me why I chose this path and fuel my passion for continuing to improve the real estate experience for everyone involved. Every transaction is a unique journey, and I cherish the opportunity to build lasting relationships with my clients and colleagues. Each story, each family, and each home is different, and I am committed to tailoring my approach to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual I work with.
As we move forward, I am excited to continue learning and growing, adapting to the ever-changing landscape of the real estate and mortgage industries.
